ABOUT MONICA
Movement, curiosity and a lifelong interest in how our bodies work.
Sue Hitzmann, creator of the MELT Method, refining Monica's Assisted Plank
Hi, I'm Monica
I'm a movement and self-care practitioner based in London, working with people who want to understand their bodies better and feel more confident in the way they move.
My work brings together MELT Method, NeuroKinetic Therapy, Pilates, yoga and other movement practices.
Rather than one approach for everyone, I enjoy finding ways to apply my work to the individual in front of me.
I'm particularly interested in the way our bodies adapt and compensate — and in helping people become more curious about those patterns rather than simply trying to work harder or push through them. I want to help you learn strategies to help yourself.
For me, movement is about much more than exercise. It's about awareness, connection, confidence and finding practical ways of supporting yourself in everyday life.

MY JOURNEY WITH MOVEMENT
My interest in movement began as a child practicing ballet and gymnastics, I loved Circus Skills at University and in my twenties, I started training in Tae Kwon Do. I trained consistently for three years and achieved my Red Belt before relocating to Los Angeles.
Living in Los Angeles introduced me to a different way of thinking about movement. I found myself increasingly drawn to the introspection, benevolence and self-practice of yoga, and to the idea that movement could be a way of understanding yourself as much as developing physical ability or skills.
That eventually led me towards teaching yoga. Once I began teaching, I quickly discovered that people arrived in my classes with all sorts of questions, challenges and physical issues for which I felt ill-equipped to support.
Rather than seeing that as a limitation, it made me curious. Over the years, each new person I worked with seemed to present something new that I wanted to understand better.
My subsequent training has therefore often been driven by a simple question:
That curiosity has taken me through yoga, Pilates, MELT Method, NeuroKinetic Therapy, anatomy and movement assessment, specialist postnatal and women's health education, and massage and scar therapies.
I don't think that learning ever really finishes. The more I discover about the body, the more fascinated I become.
What else can I learn that might help the people I work with?
MY APPROACH
I'm naturally curious about people and about the different ways our bodies work.
I see my role as revealing to someone how their body could be moving. I want to create a space where we can explore what's happening, notice patterns and work out what feels useful for you.
That might mean using movement assessment, Pilates, MELT techniques, breathing, hands-on work, or simple movement practices you can continue at home.
Sometimes the most useful thing is doing less, paying more attention and giving your body an opportunity to respond differently.
My aim is always to make the work thoughtful, practical and personal. And even a little fun!
